OPEN SPIRIT COMMUNITY ~ YOUTH MINISTRY ~ VISION STATEMENT
Open Spirit- A New Thought Community is committed to providing a dynamic,
heart-centered youth ministry, grounded in spiritual principles. Our co-creative,
nurturing environment encourages everyone involved to realize their full potential as
beautiful, compassionate and powerful human-spiritual beings.
We consider it a responsibility and privilege to encourage the full and open
development of the divine potential in the children, youth and adults involved in our
community. We believe that by providing understanding, care and energy, each
person can fully explore their divine place in the universe, their unique power and
gifts and their connection to all that is available within and without to support them in
their journey as a whole, divine expression of the One.
We utilize all that is available to bring this vision into being. Joy, fun and play are the
core of our experience. We nurture and honor the body, mind and spirit of each
participant. We honor the body by providing a healthy, supportive physical
environment appropriate for each developmental stage and incorporating movement
and stillness. We honor the mind by providing opportunities for sharing, listening and
inquiry and enough volunteers for group and individual engagement. We honor the
spirit through music, art and exposure to a variety of spiritual traditions as well as an
openness to the individual expression of each soul.
We are dedicated to this vision and we know it to be unfolding, expanding and coming
into more clarity exactly as it should. We know that with perseverance, compassion,
awareness and partnership with the Divine we can remove any obstacles and meet
any challenges. We know that all that we encounter in bringing forth this vision,
regardless of its apparent form, is an opportunity to reveal more fully our whole and
divine nature and we embrace the process.
